Artistic Vitae

From 1990 to his final exam in 1994, Lars Keitel studied at the University of Music and Expressive Art in Frankfurt, Germany. His professor was Jutta Drefahl. He also studied Orchestra Conducting under Dr. Hans Jaskulsky, Prof. Georg Christoph Biller (Thomas Cantor in Leipzig) and Choir Conducting with Prof. Wolfgang Schäfer.

In 1994, Lars Keitel continued his artistic education through an additional 2.5-year study program in the class of Friederike Richter at the Academy in Darmstadt, Germany.

In May 1997, he graduated with a 1.0 – the highest grade possible!

Lars Keitel took additional classes with Prof. Arnulf von Arnim (during the International Chamber Festival in Cervo, Italy) and Prof Hans Leygraf (Darmstadt, Germany).

Lars Keitel dirigiert - Copyright: Alexandra VosdingLars Keitel gives numerous solo recitals and concerts with orchestras all over Germany as well as in Luxemburg, Croatia, the Netherlands and Switzerland. He is also very much sought after to play in various chamber music ensembles.

He was the musical director of the “Kleine Oper Bad Homburg” for 10 years. On his tours he has performed at the “Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival”, the “Kissinger Sommer” and the “Mozartfest” in Würzburg as well as at the “Festspielhaus” in Baden-Baden, the “Ruhrfestspielhaus” in Recklinghausen, the “Alte Oper Frankfurt” and the “Gasteig” in Munich.

He was given great credit for his CDs, radio and TV recordings.

Lars Keitel is the initiator and director of the “Sommerakademie der Kulturstiftung” in Friedrichsdorf. He is a member of the board since 2001.
